My Writings. My Thoughts.
Woe is me…
// October 2nd, 2005 // General
Well, I didn’t see this one coming.
Iv’e been working with .Net and C# since 2002 and continously keept myself up to date with the .Net community and emerging technologies. But somehow I’m currently back to “good ‘ol VB6″. How did this happen I ask myself? Well, I recently moved and therefor had to find a new employer. I was hired as a .Net consultant, but for a couple of reasons had to accept a project in VB6. The project was supposed to last a few months and then I would get back to my beloved .Net. Now, since I’m a senior consultant and a realist, I knew “a few months” could easily turn into more, but still I accepted the project since I was tired of waiting around for another project to pop up. But now I’m really starting to feel the effects of leaving .Net and Visual Studio! I find myself devoting more and more of my spare time just to keep up and ease the craving for it. I really need to get back soon…
So during this week I’m going to seriously look at the release candidate of VS 2005 and also dive into nHibernate and other ORM tools. I’ll post my findings here.
